1. What do the codes look like?
- Below, Figure 1.1, is the HTML codes for a webpage.
- Scan it from top to bottom and pay attention to marks like <X> and </X>.
- move the mouse (cursor) in and out of the image and see what happens.

2. Secrets Revealed
- Move the mouse over it to see the webpage from the codes.
- Keep it secret! You know, they are both for the same page.
- The author wrote the code page and you read the webpage on the Internet.
3. What do you remember?
- The two pages look alike. True Or False?
- There are more things in the Code page which don't see on the Webpage. True Or False?
- Most of those extra things are <> and the words or letters, e.g. <BR>. True Or False?
- Some are < > and some are </ >, e.g. <b> text </b>. True or False?
- The colors of words are different too. True Or False?
- The first 7 lines in code page are not shown anywhere in the Webpage. True Or False?
- The 8th line of code page is shown on the very top of the Webpage. True Or False?
- Then followed by some same writings from both pages but different appearances - size, color and font type. True Or False?
- In code page, all letters are of the same size, only different color. True Or False?
- Remember. It is these little extra marks and words and letters which made the webpage what they are. Without those little marks and their fellows, the webpage would have never been born.
- Don't worry if you don't understand these. We haven't started yet. It is only appetiser.
